Our Curriculum

At Caterpillar Corner we believe children learn best when they feel safe, valued and respected. Our play-based approach allows children to learn naturally through exploration and creativity, while developing confidence, resilience and a love for learning. We are proudly screen-free encouraging real-world connections, communication and imagination. Every day we strive to create a space where curiosity blossoms and every child can shine in their own unique way.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which sets the standards for learning and development for children from birth to five years. The EYFS covers seven areas of learning

• Communication and language

• Personal, social and emotional

• Physical development

• Literacy

• Mathematics

• Understanding the world

• Expressive arts and design

Rather than formal lessons we provide rich, meaningful play experiences that naturally support these areas.

Children are carefully observed as the interact and play throughout their time with us so we can identify their interests and skills and gently extend their learning and development through thoughtful questions, encouragement, new experiences and enhancements. This approach allows children to develop at their own pace, building strong foundations not only for school but for life.
